I called the hospital and listened to it. You're right--very annoying. Just when you're relaxed to the point that you can almost forget that you've been on hold for a half hour just so you can make a few yacht payments on the doctor's behalf, this LOUD woman shuts off the music for a few seconds and reminds you that you're in a sick state of limbo.
I DID manage to get through and schedule you for an operation to have your knees removed.

Am I more disturbed that they leave you in recorded-voice-land for so long, or that you enjoy your visit?
HA! My HMO won't pay for knee removal unless referred by a specialist. You can't fool me, doofus.
